• Thankful for my daughter.
  • Thankful for my wife.
  • Thankful that I slept at 1am and woke up at 4am to study Greek.
  • Thankful for Starbucks to keep me up.
  • Thankful for the Seminary Men TMS who were praying for my wife's recovery and healing.
  • Thankful for the fruit of my Study in Greek Exam.
  • Thankful for Chapel: David's Sexual Sin with Bathsheba had disastrous effects upon himself and others (over 40 if I remember rightly)
  • Thankful for Preaching Class: God reminds me to depend on Him, and when I think I'm a good preacher, He humbles me right away.
Devotions
1 Chronicles 11-14

David is surrounded by Mighty Men. He is wealthy and powerful and has great success wherever He goes. Uzzah touches the Ark and dies because of God's absolute Holiness. David prays persistently for God's direction in fighting wars. He wins when He prays.

Hebrews 13

Let us go outside the camp where Jesus suffered. Let us offer God a sacrifice of praise. Hebrews 13:5 teaches the need to be content, because the Lord is my helper. It also teaches me to honor the Marriage bed because of the sacred insitution.

James 1

Trials will come. God rewards those who endure trials. Trials sanctify and teaches us endurance and perfect our character.

Amos 7-8

God judges His people for neglecting justice. He opposes the proud and speaks of a Day of Calamity because of the people's sin. God will judge sin.

Psalm 90

Life is a vapor. We need wisdom. Whatever has will happen already has happened in the past. There is nothing new under the Sun. Man will perish, but God will never perish. Man's glory fades, God's glory never fades. The important principle here is that I must acknowledge my short existence on earth, and live for the the only thing that really matters: ascribing glory to God.

Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. (Psalm 90:14 ESV)
